Adding Interactivity to Your SMART Board Lessons

One of the greatest challenges of today is to keep our students engaged.  Many of us have the luxury of a SMART Board in our classrooms, but many of us use it as a projection device to lecture from.  And, the reason that this is done, is because we do not know how to access interactive lessons or activities.  In a series of upcoming blogs, I am going to share some ideas to effectively and efficiently create interactive activities within your classroom lessons.

One of the most forgotten components of Notebook Software is the Lesson Activity Toolkit.  The Lesson Activity Toolkit is found within your Gallery Tab.  Within the LAT (Lesson Activity Toolkit), click on "Activities". "Activities" will provide you with enough variety and interactivity for all of your lesson needs this year.

1.  Go to your Gallery Tab and click on Lesson Activity Toolkit:

2.  Next, click on Activities:

To help you even further, here is a video to help you and your use of the Lesson Activity Toolkit.

Try the Anagram Activity for a review at the end of class of key vocabulary you focused on within your lesson.  Or, this can be used as a warm-up to review key words you discussed the day before.

The Lesson Activity Toolkit (LAT) is truly a valuable resource and one that I will continue to address in future blogs.

Good luck!
